The format is very similar to the regular SRM:

• 2 person teams
• 10 stages with 6 targets each.
• On Saturday, one person shoots an AR15 (.223/5.56) and the other a precision rifle.  On Sunday, they reverse roles.
• At each stage, the AR15 shooter gets unlimited rounds to hit 4 of the 6 targets.
• Then the precision rifle shooter gets one shot only at 6 targets.
• 5 minutes total time to get 10 points per stage.

Saturday:

• SRM Rimfire Match 8:00 AM – Noon
• SRM set-up (we can always use help) 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Practice range open 3:00 – 5:00 PM
• Early SRM sign-in 4:00 – 5:00 PM

Sunday:

• Regular match sign-in  6:45 to 7:15 AM
• Practice range open 6:45 to 7:15 AM
• Gate locked and mandatory shooters meeting at 7:45 AM
• Match will start at 8:00 AM

A brief history of the Sporting Rifle Match

The 2024 match schedule is now approved and available for viewing under the Schedule tab or as a PDF download under the Downloads tab.

For those of you who are familiar with our usual schedule, please note that the June matches will be on the last weekend of May this year to allow a PRS match on the first weekend.

Please remember that all competitors in the various Sporting Rifle Match events must fill out and sign a NRA Whittington Center liability waiver annually.  We would prefer that you use the link below and do it online, but we will have the paper version for you to fill out and sign at each match as well.

Matches are limited as to the number of competitors.   Preregistration on Practiscore is strongly recommended to reserve a position for each match.  Preregistration for each match opens approximately 30 days prior the match date.  Match fees are to be paid in cash at each match.

IMPORTANT:  Matches are sometimes cancelled at the last minute due to weather of other unforeseen conditions.  Be sure to check back before you travel as we will post any cancellation notices here.
